Guard against pneumonia and influenza.

Pneumonia is a frequent complication of influenza. When given vaccines for pneumonia and flu together, studies have shown a reduction in the rates of morbidity and hospitalizations. Clinical Research Associates in Nashville, Tennessee is enrolling a new research study designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability and effectiveness of administering a research pneumonia vaccine when given in conjunction with or 30 days after a seasonal flu vaccine.

Who is eligible to participate?

To qualify to participate, you must:

  • Be 50 years of age or older
  • Be in general good health
  • Have not received the 2018-19 seasonal flu vaccine
  • Have not received a pneumonia vaccine in the last 12 months

What does the study involve?

The study consists of 3 office visits and 3 telephone contacts. All participants will receive a 2018-19 seasonal flu shot and a research pneumonia shot. Compensation of up to $300.
