Respiratory Infections Device Study


Do you have a respiratory infection?


Volunteers are needed for a one visit student of a research device. There are two groups needed: one with respiratory symptoms and fever and the other healthy group with absolutely no symptoms of infections. The objective of this study is to see if this research device can differentiate between a viral or bacterial infection as compared to clinical diagnosis and other laboratory tests.

Who may be eligible to participate?

To qualify to participate, you must be:

  • Age 1 or older
  • Healthy or healthy but otherwise experiencing symptoms of an acute respiratory infection plus fever 


What does the study involve?

This study requires one approximate 90 minute office visit. Volunteers will have a finger stick blood sample, blood draw from a vein and nasal/throat swabs. Results of the tests will not be provided. There will be a 7 day follow-up call.

Is there compensation?

Yes, if you qualify, you will be compensated $100 for study completion.
