  Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Do you worry all the time? Feel tense, stressed and irritable?

If chronic worry and excessive anxiety are interfering with your life, you may be more than “just a worrier.” You may be suffering from Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), which affects an estimated 6.8 million Americans. In order to distinguish GAD from normal worry, you should look at several factors.

Do you worry very often and about a wide range of things? Do you seem to worry about things that other people don’t consider to be important? Does your anxiety significantly disrupt your life and personal relationships? Are you unable to relax or control your worry? Are there physical symptoms related to your anxiety, like tense muscles, feeling restless or keyed up, difficulty concentrating, or tiring easily?

If you think you may have GAD, you could qualify for a research study assessing the safety and efficacy of a research medication for Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

To be eligible for this study, you must:
• Be between the ages of 18 - 65
• Be generally healthy
• Have experienced excessive worry on most days for at least 6 months
• Have anxiety that interferes with your life and is difficult to control
• Not have any other psychiatric disorder
• Not abuse drugs or alcohol

Qualified participants will receive study-related evaluations, study-related medical care and study medication at no cost. Study participants will also receive compensation for time and travel.

If you are interested in participating in this research study, please fill out the brief form to the right. (This information will be used to contact you; we will get your permission before placing you in our database for future studies.) Or, call the Recruiting Coordinator at 615-329-2222
