This is a research study looking at people with Stage Two Hypertension, with a top (systolic blood pressure) number greater than 160.
Previous clinical studies have shown that people with Stage Two systolic hypertension are at a greater risk for serious medical events like heart attacks and strokes. Studies have also shown that it can be more effective to treat Stage Two Hypertension with multiple blood pressure medications.
This study evaluates the effectiveness and safety of an investigational combination of blood pressure medications in lowering blood pressure. The individual medications used in this clinical trial are FDA-approved for treating hypertension.
To qualify for this study, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have high blood pressure, with a top (systolic blood pressure) number, when not on medication, between 160 and 200
- Be generally healthy with no current heart problems
- Be willing to discontinue blood pressure medications under the supervision of the study doctor
Qualified participants will receive study-related medical care and study medication at no cost, as well as compensation for time and travel.
