The incidence of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is increasing in the United States, in correlation with the rise in obesity. The American Diabetes Association estimates about 21 million people in the US have diabetes, with another 54 million people diagnosed with pre-diabetes. The association of obesity with type 2 diabetes has been recognized for decades.

Clinical Research Associates, Inc. is seeking volunteers to participate in a 56-week, 16-visit study for overweight, Type II Diabetics who are interested in losing weight.

To qualify you must be:
• 18 to 70 years of age
• On a stable dose of oral diabetic medication for at least 3 months or diet management
• Motivated to lose weight

• And follow a prescribed diet and exercise program

Qualified participants will receive :

• Frequent dietary counseling
• Study related physical exams and labs
• Investigational study medication

• Compensation for time and travel
