is studying High cholesterol associated with erectile dysfunction (ED). The risk of ED in nearly two times greater in men with total cholesterol levels above 240 than in men with total cholesterol levels below 180. Difficulty getting and keeping an erection that last long enough to finish having sex in known as ED. Some men have trouble getting an erection in the first place, while others have difficulty keeping one. And these problems may occur frequently or just occasionally.
If there is too much cholesterol in your body, it sticks to the walls of the arteries. When cholesterol builds up, it creates a smaller opening for blood to pass through. This leads to less blood flow to the penis, which can create erectile problems.
To qualify for this Erectile Dysfunction study you must be:
- Between the ages of 18 - 64
- In a stable relationship with a female partner
- Experiencing ED for at least 6 months or longer
- Be on a stable dose of a cholesterol medication
Participants in this 12 week 5 visit study will receive study related exams, lab tests and study medications at not cost. Compensation for time and travel is provided
